Will I receive a certificate when I complete the Professional Certificate?

Checked 12 October 2026

Yes, if you enroll on the certificate track and complete the graded work. DeepLearning.AI answers this question itself, as shown in the United States on 12 October 2026: "Yes, if you’re enrolled through the DeepLearning.AI Pro membership and complete the required assessments, you’ll receive a certificate upon completion. If you’re auditing the course for free, a certificate will not be provided."

The program is offered in two places, and each sets its own rule.

On DeepLearning.AI. The certificate comes with the Pro membership: the page says "Earn a certificate with PRO" and lists "24 Graded Assignments". The membership FAQ covers stepping down a plan: "If you downgrade, you'll keep access to all content and can continue to earn certificates until your next billing cycle. Your progress will be saved on any courses started for 180 days giving you the chance to upgrade again if you want to complete the quizzes or assignments." The membership price, with its date, is in this page's facts and price section.

On Coursera (as shown in the United States on 12 October 2026). The program page shows an "Enroll for free" button, lists a "Shareable certificate" and says "Earn an employer-recognized certificate from DeepLearning.AI". What enrolling gives is set out in the FAQ of each of the three course pages, in the same words: "To access course materials, assignments, and earn a Certificate, you'll need to purchase the Certificate experience when you enroll in a course. Eligible learners may also have the option to start with a Free Trial. Some courses may also offer a Full Course, No Certificate option. This lets you access course materials, submit required assessments, and receive a final grade, but you won't be able to earn or purchase a Certificate." On the certificate track: "When you enroll in the course, you get access to all of the courses in the Certificate, and you earn a certificate when you complete the work. Your electronic Certificate will be added to your Accomplishments page - from there, you can print your Certificate or add it to your LinkedIn profile." The program page also shows "Financial aid available," with a link.

One course or all three. Coursera's program FAQ asks "Can I just enroll in a single course?" and answers: "Yes! To get started, click the course card that interests you and enroll. You can enroll and complete the course to earn a shareable certificate. When you subscribe to a course that is part of a Certificate, you’re automatically subscribed to the full Certificate." Each course page adds: "When you enroll in this course, you'll also be enrolled in this Professional Certificate."

What we couldn't find. Both sites use the same name, "PyTorch for Deep Learning Professional Certificate", but the pages we read on 12 October 2026 don't say whether a certificate earned on one site is the same document as one earned on the other, or whether progress moves between them. They also don't say whether these three Coursera courses offer the "Full Course, No Certificate" option, or what financial aid covers.

What you can do.

  1. Pick the site by how you want to pay. DeepLearning.AI ties the certificate to its Pro membership; Coursera ties it to the Certificate experience you choose when you enroll.
  2. Read the options on Coursera's enrollment screen before you start. On the no-certificate option, Coursera's FAQ says you "won't be able to earn or purchase a Certificate".
  3. If cost is the obstacle, open the "Financial aid available" link on the Coursera program page before you enroll.
  4. For anything else about certificates, DeepLearning.AI's Help Center has a section, "Certificates & Course Completion", described as: "Learn how certificates and accomplishments work across DeepLearning.AI courses."
