edX is an online learning platform offering individual courses and programs made up of related courses from educational institutions and other organizations. Learners can enroll, work through course content, and complete assessments through the service. Where both routes are offered, free audit access and paid verified enrollment have different access and certificate conditions. Credential policy
For courses offering audit and verified tracks, the paid verified route makes learners eligible for a certificate after earning a passing score before the course ends. Certificates can be shared on a resume or LinkedIn. Free audit access is time-limited and does not include a certificate; it should not be confused with an automatically billed trial. · Source
Refund and trial terms
For a one-time certificate-track purchase with an audit alternative, edX generally allows a refund within 14 days after payment or course start, whichever is later, capped at six months after payment. Different terms apply to bundles, subscriptions, Professional Education, in-app purchases, and business-sponsored access. Earning a certificate or completing a course and being dissatisfied with the final grade can remove refund eligibility.
